Of them all, the evening opening on July 11 is probably the most fascinating: the triple water jump is illuminated in the darkness of the valley, creating a truly magical atmosphere.
With a drop of as much as 315 meters, they are among the highest artificially regulated waterfalls in Europe and, only on a few occasions during the year, the dam that feeds them is opened giving truly breathtaking scenery.
A scenic trek through forests and mountains
The best spot to watch the event is theMaslana Observatory, which can be reached by a pleasant trek of about an hour and a half starting from Valbondione. The trail, suitable for those who love to walk in the mountains, crosses green landscapes and views typical of the Orobie Mountains.
For those who prefer a more comfortable route, it is possible to reach the Lizzola huts using the chairlift, from where there is still a splendid view of the falls.
A picnic with a view of Serio Falls
Our advice? Pack a backpack with some local specialties, a blanket and a good bottle to share. Once at the top, you can wait for the waterfalls to open while immersed in the quiet of the mountain, perhaps enjoying a relaxing picnic with friends.

From Luer Prince Lovere, Valbondione can be easily reached by car in about 1 hour and 15 minutes, passing through some of the most striking landscapes of the Seriana Valley.

Parking information
If you reach Valbondione by car, we recommend that you purchase your parking ticket in advance online at the official Turismo Valbondione website. Dedicated parking for the event is located at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Via Tarcisio Pacati, from where the route to the Maslana Observatory starts. On open days it is advisable to arrive by 8:30 a.m. to avoid queues and enjoy the climb at a leisurely pace.
