From September 21 to 26, 2026, Lovere will once again host CortoLovere, the film festival that is celebrating its 28th edition this year.
For six days, the village on Lake Iseo becomes a hub where cinema, culture, and the local area come together, featuring film screenings, short films, and meetings with filmmakers and guests from the Italian film scene.
This is also a special event for those who choose to stay in Lovere during this time and want to discover the town through its events and cultural life.
The CortoLovere 2026 Program
The event kicks off on Monday, September 21, at the Villa Milesi Auditorium with Paolo Virzì‘s *Caterina va in città *.
The retrospective dedicated to the director continues in the coming days with *La prima cosa bella*, *Il capitale umano *, and *La pazza gioia*.
Also scheduled for Thursday, September 24, is a screening of *Fists in My Pockets* (1965), with Paola Pitagora in attendance.
On Friday, September 25, the festival moves to the Crystal Theater, where the finalist short films will be screened at 8:30 p.m., and the audience will have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award.
The Final Night
The final day, Saturday, September 26, will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Mondadori Bookstore with a discussion featuring Gianni Canova, dedicated to the presentation of the book *Un popolo di Ombre: Manifesto for the Liberation of Film Characters*.
At 9:00 p.m., the Crystal Theater will host the gala and the awards ceremony for the winning short films.
During the evening , Paola Pitagora, “Signora del Lago 2026,” will also be honored, and the short films created during the “Occhi sul Lago” artist-in-residence program will be screened.
Expected guests include Paolo Virzì, Manuel Agnelli, Margherita Spampinato, Gianni Canova, and Bruno Bozzetto. Journalist Marta Perego will host the evening.
